Sponge Iron

Sponge Iron, abbreviated as Direct Reduced Iron (DRI), results from a reduction process that transforms iron ore pellets or ore nodules into a versatile, high-quality metal product. In the direct reforming process and due to the release of oxygen gas, the iron ore turns into spherical pieces with small holes on its surface, like a sponge.
